Happy Birthday Matthew

This year has gone by in super speed! I cant believe we are in September already. I love September one, because we get to celebrate Matthew's birthday and two, Autumn begins (my favorite season).

Matt and I thought of many ideas for his birthday. First , we thought about Magic Mountain, I drag him to Disneyland several times a year and all the boy really wants to do is go to Magic Mountain. Second, we thought about Rehab in Vegas, we have never been and thought it would be a perfect way to celebrate. Third, Matt decided all he wanted was Sushi (if you know my husband you know he is the MOST indecisive person you will ever meet). Fourth, Matt wanted to visit with one of his good friends in San Louis Obispo.

Oh the Decision's.. Well he finally decided that after years of promising Derek in San Louis Obispo that we would visit him, we would stay true to our word this year and make it happen.

We were so excited to start his birthday weekend which always falls on Labor Day weekend so we had and extra day to celebrate.

Heading out Friday night for hours on the open road.

First Saturday of college football. Where we were the boys were able to watch like five games at a time. Matt was in football heaven.

Matt's Birthday dinner. Sushi just as he wished.

Matt is not one to be the center of attention. He is quite the shy one actually. He begs me every year,
"Please don't tell them to sing me happy birthday"

...But..But we have to... Whats a birthday with out the Happy Birthday song??

His look says it all... "Really Desiree?"

Okay fine your here.. lets just get it over with...

..and then the music started

With a couple nudges from Natalie... he threw in a "party boy" dance for us.

I could be wrong... but this looks like one happy birthday boy!

Sorry baby We had to.

Happy 27th Birthday!!

*Cheers*

We ended the night laughing hysterically playing Partini... the funnest game ever!

Matt is a fan of wine and has always wanted to go wine tasting so Derek planned a day in the vineyards for us.

First stop breakfast and mimosa's

Wine tasting (wine smelling for me)

The beautiful view!

We spent the rest of the day relaxing, watched football and later a movie.  We had all, one time or another during the trip wished we lived here.  It is so different from where we live. We finished the trip off on Monday with a looong walk on the beach, checked out a couple shops in Pismo Beach and then headed home.

Thank you sooo much Derek and Rachel for making Matt's Birthday weekend so amazing. We had such a great time and cant wait to come visit again!
