Thats a First

Last night was a first for this new mommy and daddy.

I had just finished feeding Bostyn, and I had put her down in her swing. Matt and I Were watching TV and out of no where she let out this horrifying scream from her sleep. She was in my arms within seconds.

Matt: "So much for letting her cry for a minute"

I gave him an evil stare and told him that something was wrong....that cry meant she was in pain someway or somehow, i just knew it. I don't think he believed me until she was still crying an hour later. We tried everything we could think of to sooth her. Thinking she had a tummy ache, we kneaded her belly and played "bicycle" with her little legs. We burped her for hours and of course rocked and bounced her. NOTHING worked.

about two hours into her scream like crying she started to go in and out of sleep. waking about every five minutes crying to her little hearts content. It was the saddest things I have ever seen. My baby girl, inconsolable, and I couldn't figure out how to help her.

I started brainstorming all of the possibilities..

Temperature- Nope
Diarrhea- Nope
Flu/cold symptoms- Nope
Constipation- Nope (BM earlier that day)

So the obvious was out of the way I had to think harder, I remember saying to Bostyn a couple days ago "Ohh, your gonna be a drooler just like daddy"

Drooling! Symptom 1

While doing tummy time earlier in the day she kept rubbing her mouth (wide open) on her blanket. Something she has never done.

And... she began to kind of chew like on mats shoulder.

Gumming! Symptom 2

I also noticed that she was sticking her tongue out a lot rubbing in against her gums, and of course her fussiness.

Fussiness! Symptom 3

With all these symptoms it was time to go to the experts...GOOGLE.

I decided to Google "Teething at two months?"

Yup its possible, as I have also found out from other mommies too.

HOUR THREE and still crying. After figuring out that teething could be a possibility I tried rubbing her Binky against her gums just to see how she would respond.

Silence! She stopped crying. OMG.. she has to be teething.

Luckily I try to be as prepared as possible and had teething tablets on hand that come highly recommended.

We gave her two teething tablets and within ten minutes she was out!

Three and a half hours later it was peacefully again in the Metoyer home and all order was restored! =)
